Nurses’ Work Methods Assessment Scale: A Construct Validation

Background. A nursing work method is the base for organization and implementation of care to patients based on nurses’ skills. Nurses’ methods are consensually organized into two groups: task-oriented (functional method) client-centered (teamwork method, individual per reference nurse). As impact clients, we highlight interference in quality provided and, regarding nurses, workload job satisfaction. Therefore, existence tools that allow identifying organizational methodologies relevant. Aim. The aim study test validity reliability nurses assessment scale (NWMAS). Methods. methodological followed recommendations EQUATOR network. NWMAS was previously developed as a self-completion questionnaire. To determine construct validity, exploratory confirmatory factor analyses were performed. Results. 325 participants enrolled this study. In analysis, 25 items comprising distributed five dimensions, contemplating methods. Cronbach’s alpha total 0.846. analysis revealed good fit. Conclusion. valid reliable tool. Implications Nursing Practice. identifies adopted by hospital settings, valuable tool management, contributes definition strategies promote safety patients.
